# **D.A. Shane**

## Independent Scholar

D.A. Shane is an urban planner and writer in Middle Tennessee. He studied philosophy at the Pontifical College Josephinum and holds a master’s degree in city and regional planning. His writing explores the intersection of philosophy, religion, culture, mythology, and the built environment, with a particular interest in the recovery of place and memory after modernity. He is the author of The Watchtower and the Cross, and his work on urbanism and architecture has appeared in the Journal of Architectural and Planning Research and at Strong Towns.
