Following the style, format, and general editorial policy and protocols of the JCRT, *The New Polis* focuses critical theory, cultural analysis, and political thought and political theology. *The New Polis* is both an e-magazine and a scholarly journal. Currently it serves as an academic weblog publishing informed and researched articles, or essays, on a weekly to monthly basis. Later in 2018 *The New Polis* will begin publishing a peer-reviewed, online journal on a range of topics involving critical theory, cultural analysis, and political thought. An academic advisory board for the journal will soon be in place. *The New Polis* is also planning to publish translations of previously unpublished texts by both current and deceased European scholars of interest to an English-speaking constituency. The [vision statement](http://www.thenewpolis.com/about) of *The New Polis* is as follows: > In this age of increasing global economic inequality, political chaos, environmental threats, racial and ethnic strife, gender struggles, and the corruption of so much of media and academia, the public needs a thoughtful and critical voice to take a deeper look at domestic and international trends as well as the news of the day. We aim to offer that voice without succumbing to ideological posturing, political polemicizing, or hyperpartisan ranting.
