A Note on Open Source Publishing

Founded in 1999, JCRT is an early pioneer in electronic, open source publishing and remains committed to open access scholarship. We oppose the growing trend of locking scholarly work behind expensive paywalls controlled by commercial publishers—and the accompanying pressures that distort academic credibility and prestige. Academic reputations are built through readership and wide engagement, not restricted access.

As a non-profit entity, JCRT actively resists these trends and invites authors to resist them as well. We are also happy to provide letters of support to faculty and administrators confirming that published pieces have been thoroughly peer-reviewed and selected for their genuine quality.
