Open Access Statement
The Journal for Cultural and Religious Theory (JCRT) is an open access journal. All content is freely available without charge to the user or their institution, immediately on publication and without embargo. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author, provided the original author and source are credited. No registration is required to read any part of the journal.
JCRT has published exclusively online and free of charge since its founding in 1999. It is a diamond open access journal: it charges no fees of any kind to authors or readers.
License
Articles published on or after August 24, 2026 are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. Under this license anyone may share and adapt the work for any purpose, including commercially, as long as they give appropriate credit to the author(s), cite the original publication in JCRT, link to the license, and indicate whether changes were made. The license is displayed on every article page and embedded in the metadata of every article PDF.
Articles published before August 24, 2026 remain free to read. Their copyright is held by their authors; where an author has agreed, the article has been relicensed under CC BY 4.0 and the article page says so. Otherwise those articles may be used and shared in accordance with the fair-use provisions of copyright law, and further reuse requires the author’s permission.
Copyright

Self-archiving
Authors may deposit any version of their article, including the submitted manuscript, the accepted manuscript, and the published version of record, in an institutional or subject repository of their choice, at any time, with no embargo. See the archiving and repository policy.
