David Roome is a senior operations executive, enterprise systems architect, and scholar-practitioner based in Kloof, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. He serves as Chief Operating Officer and Co-founder of Synapser and serves as a volunteer Trustee on the Board of The Thomas More Trust, which governs Thomas More College. Over a 28-year career leading enterprise digital transformations across Africa, he has worked at the intersection of complex computational systems, organisational change, and human cognition. Currently a PhD candidate in Professional Practice at Eastern University, his research examines barriers to value internalization, cognitive load theory, and the impact of generative artificial intelligence on adult faith development, human vocation, and institutional mission in pluralistic organisational settings.
